Here we go again. Another July 4th weekend that is supposed to be filled with fun is now filled with tragedy. It has been reported by the Michigan State Police that two teenagers were killed on US-23 from a crash. It happened in Pittsfield Township on Thursday afternoon. The three teens were struck head-on by a pick-up truck. Apparently, the truck driver crossed the median. The teens were driving home from work in a Mercury Sable. They were headed southbound.

July 6, 2014, A man from Indiana has died in a skydiving accident. He was 70 years old. According to authorities in southern Michigan, the accident happened about 11 a.m. on Sunday. The Indiana man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was an experienced jumper who fell to earth near Pratt Avenue and Wooley Drive. This is located about a quarter-mile from Brooks Field. Brooks Field is located on approximately 140 acres adjacent to the L. Alta Brooks Industrial Park. There is a single east-west runway of 3,500 feet which serves a wide variety of aircraft.

On Thursday, July 3, 2014 there was a crash which involved a Michigan State Police cruiser. This happened on Flint’s north side. There was a short chase on North Street which involved the cruiser. The chase started at Stewart Avenue, around 4:30 p.m. The trooper was chasing a fleeing vehicle. The suspect refused to pull over and ran a stop sign. Prominent auto accident attorney at Goldman & Associates is reporting that Oakland County has now overtaken Kent County as the most common place for deer-car accidents in Michigan.
